THE story of the hospital wedding (SA, February 3) was truly moving - a wonderful example of the personal care given by all the NHS staff involved.
I am certain this 'episode of care' will not appear in any NHS statistics; nor will there be a 'target' that the staff were striving to meet! But this represents the best example of holistic medicine - delivered by individual members of staff dedicated to delivering the needs of individual patients.
Their reward will not be monetary; but the satisfaction of knowing they have done a good job in meeting the needs of their patient - and his relatives.
