Electrification of GWR
SOME years ahead the expectancy is to travel Swindon to London in less than an hour (SA July 23). I travelled over that route many occasions late 1977 and early 1978 in times varying between 42 and 46 minutes (admittedly non-stop which is most unlikely to be repeated).
