I WRITE with regards to your article on the lack of dog bins provided by the council. I am not a dog lover but my son was asked by a relative to walk his dog for a few days over the festive period. I enjoy walking so went with him but was shocked at the amount of dog faeces all around the Weir field in Wroughton even though there are at least three bins in the vicinity. I retched my way around as the smell was so bad in certain areas. It is the irresponsible dog owners who are at fault! My son picked up every poop that the dog did but clearly other dog owners have no respect. The other field we visited was the field behind the junior school which my son advised is part of the Ridgeway cross country route. I have renamed it Dog Poo City!
In my opinion, even if there are no bins, if you are a dog owner, then it is your responsibility to clear up after them even if it means carrying it around for an hour and disposing of it in your own bin.
