ON behalf of the Rotary Club of Swindon Thamesdown I would like to thank the residents of Swindon for their generosity during our Rotary Clubs annual christmas sleigh appeal. Between December 1 and 24 our sleigh visited many streets in the town with Father Christmas collecting as well as at many static locations. In total we raised £6,585 all of which will be distributed by the Rotary Club to local charities within the Swindon area.

My thanks go to the following companies, Sainsbury's, Tesco, B & Q Superstore, the Outlet Village, Asda Walmart and the West Swindon Centre for allowing us to collect at their premises.

Also my thanks go to Rotarian David Dukes and his family for all their help in organising the sleigh and the collections in what can only be described as adverse weather conditions. To Rotarian Peter Collis for his continued support and the counting of the monies collected. To all the Rotarians, their families and friends as well as other organisations who helped during the month by coming out in the snowy conditions and collecting.

All your efforts will help to make someone else’s life in Swindon a little bit better, many thanks.

JOHN FISHER President Rotary Club of Swindon Thamesdown
