COUN Greenhalgh just doesn’t get it, does he? For the rest of us, ‘No university, no development’ at Coate simply means ‘No university, no development’. In his parallel universe, it seems to mean ‘Well, I know we said ‘no development’ and said so in several different ways, but actually we only meant that for one particular application and now it’s open house to any developer that puts in another application’.
He also seems to think that partial development will somehow protect the remainder of the land round Coate. As we now can’t believe a single thing he says, why should we believe him in this? If he’s serious about protecting the land, why wait for a development proposal? 52,000 people have asked for a 1km protection zone around Coate. Is there any scope for failing to understand that message?
