HAVING moved to Swindon a few years ago, I am very disappointed by those who oppose any development on ‘open spaces’. It is ok for those of a certain age who enjoy walking their dogs etc but what about the next generation needing homes, universities etc. Several potential developers have been put off by these selfish people. Swindon is still the butt of jokes due to the lack of development here. There are plenty of open spaces ten mins in any direction so why not bring the town up to date? I suggest these campaigners should see the bigger picture and ponder on the fact that their homes were built on an ‘open space’.
