TO my great regret, I have never previously given much thought to the plight of nursing and other medical staff with regard to the parking facilities available to them at the Great Western Hospital.
However, having recently undergone life-saving surgery at the hospital I am hugely indebted to the wonderful surgeon, anaesthetist and everyone else who gave me such wonderful care and treatment; I and my family cannot thank them enough for their skill and kindness.
As I convalesced after my operation, I heard about the potential plans to charge medical staff for parking. I believe it would be immoral and scandalous to impose such an additional financial burden on these wonderful, dedicated and caring people who work long and often unsocial hours.
I believe they should have their own reserved parking area as close to the hospital as possible - and free of charge.
