THIS is the first time ever I have written a letter to anyone about my feelings; I am so outraged that I must vent my anger about the cost of parking at the GWH for staff members.

I myself do not work there but when I read that as from March the staff will be paying £1/day to work, I’m incensed.

Some of the staff are trainees and earn around £6,000 a year at present they pay £5/month so that’s an increase of 166 per cent.

The administration says it is to encourage car sharing? How can that be the nurses have varied shifts so there is no coordination.

Oh yes. I hear people asking why not use public transport? The cost would double two buses from where I live, not only that would any parent/husband like to see their wife/daughter out at night alone late?

We expect nurses to look after us about time we did something in return and give them free parking.

The fundamental problem is space it was when the GWH opened and still is, so why not build another layer on top of the present car park?
