AFTER years of financial trouble and languishing in the Football League’s lower tier, today’s play-off final at Wembley is just what every Town fan deserves.

I don’t think there will be many surprises in the team selection today.

Losing Gordon Greer is a huge loss but his partner at the back Scott Cuthbert has also been great this year and should partner Lecsinel Jean-Francois. I’m sure they will both do the club proud.

It looks like there will be players nursing injuries going into the game such as Billy Paynter, Alan Sheehan and David Lucas, but I’m pretty certain they will all start on such a big occasion.

If you ask anyone who has seen Swindon play at Wembley in the past they will tell you it is something you will never forget. It is an excellent occasion and today a whole new generation of Town fans will see their team at Wembley for the first time.

Hopefully we will all be watching history when Swindon take their first steps towards the big time again.

With the structure at the club now secure, a redeveloped County Ground on the way and a playing squad that’s improving all the time, it is pretty good being a Town fan right now.

Today we need all 32,000 of us to turn the M4 red and white on our way down and back, make lots of noise, show our colours with pride and show we are proud of our beloved football club.
