THE Great Western giants at Swindon's Steam Museum will be given a run for their money in the star attraction stakes next month by some trains on a far smaller scale.

The Swindon Model Railway Club will host its 58th annual show on Saturday, March 10 at the museum of the Great Western Railway on Fire Fly Avenue.

Modrail - the club's popular annual exhibition - has been months in the making and will showcase a wide variety of models, railway layouts and demonstrations as well as a number of members on hand to offer advice and support to aspiring modellers. Among the layouts being prepared for display are Murch Murkle, Durrell Park, Rheinhof, End of the Line, Barton Hill and Dolls House Railway.

The club is made up of model railway enthusiasts from across Swindon and beyond and its membership includes former and railway workers who have taken their interest down to a smaller level.

It will be staged in the Great Western Hall between 10am and 4.30pm, last admission is 3.30pm.

Tickets cos £5 for adults, while those aged under 16 go free. The museum will also be offering a special discounted rate for those attending who wish to view the museum as well. For further details visit or
