Week 12 Weight: 12 stone and 10lbs (81kg) Total weight loss: 2 stone 7lbs

I HAVE a confession. I’ve been eating cake. Delicious, chocolatey, rich cake. And I didn’t feel guilty for one second.

That’s because it was all made from natural and nutritious raw ingredients at a special High Tea at The Core in Devizes Road.

The juice bar, which prides itself on packing its range of fresh juices with natural vitamins and minerals sourced from the highest quality products, has recently branched out into offering evenings championing raw food.

When fitness expert Ronny Terry told me I should head along and try one of their raw food nights, I was sceptical. I did vegetarianism for a bit and then pescetarian for a little longer, but I have to admit that I love steak, and the rarer the better.

Although raw food can incorporate meat I knew this wouldn’t, and the thought of munching on salad and a carrot stick wasn’t really my idea of fun evening out, especially as I was feeling lethargic after driving all day.

How wrong I was.

We gorged ourselves on sweet potato salad, sandwiches and quiche, washed down with delicious juices packed with general healthiness. We finished off with Eton Mess and apple crumble.

I may now be opting for raw food rather than a curry as my future dinner of choice – especially since if I ate as much curry as I did raw food, I would have had to sleep off the stodgy fullness. Instead I left The Core energised, satisfied, and very, very happy.

I later ruined it all with an evening in Bushwackers.
