Muse have shared a video clip online that appears to reveal the title of their new album as Drones.
The Devon rockers – Matt Bellamy, Christopher Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard – have been in the studio working on their seventh album since October last year.
The new 10-second video on their Instagram page shows the mixing desk in a recording studio before the camera moves to a black screen with blue writing on it, which includes the information: “Artist: Muse. Album: Drones.”
The recorded voice of an American army sergeant shouting orders can be heard playing in the background.
Muse’s new studio album is due to be released at some point this year.
Matt previously told NME of the new record: “I have this strong feeling that the next album should be something that really does strip away the additional things that we’ve experimented with on the last two albums, which is electronics, symphonics and orchestral work and all that kind of stuff.”
Last month, the band posted a video of a string orchestra being conducted in the studio with the caption “Milan strings”.
