How do you like your vegetables? Crispy? Well seasoned? How about cooked sympathetically?
Because that’s what judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace kept banging on about in this week’s episode of Celebrity MasterChef.
Throughout the show, the pair commented on the dishes of former pop star Reverend Richard Coles, EastEnder Laila Morse, singer Simon Webbe, ex-Sugababes star Amelle Berrabah and old England rugby captain Neil Back – and almost always used ‘sympathetically’ as an adjective to describe the cooking of veg.
The bizarre buzzword didn’t go unnoticed on Twitter.
Viewers puzzled over what ‘cooking sympathetically’ could possibly involve.
Many other just got confused and annoyed by it.
It *seemed* as though cooking that way was a good thing to do – but we’re not sure it’ll be an approach adopted in kitchens across the country any time soon.
