Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse confessed that she had to be led by partner Jonnie Peacock when she forgot her own choreography during the live show.

The pair landed themselves a third-position slot on the BBC One show’s leader board on Saturday, following their quickstep to Stevie Wonder’s Part-Time Lover.

But Mabuse credited their success to her partner after her mind went blank at the crucial moment.

She told BBC Two spin-off show It Takes Two on Tuesday: “I forgot the choreography – me, the person who made it.

“I suddenly thought ‘what are we doing here’, but then Jonnie lifted me and said ‘5, 6, 7, Oti, come on!'”

Her modest partner said: “We made a couple of small mistakes, but generally it went really well.”

With just a few days to go before the hotly-anticipated Halloween special episode comes to screens this weekend, he gave an insight into rehearsals for his and Mabuse’s performance, a Cha Cha Cha to Olly Murs and Flo Rida hit Troublemaker.

He joked: “This is the first dance where my hips have to move. I hadn’t even seen my hips move before. It could be very Halloween-esque.”
