A MOTORIST was taken to hospital after his car flipped on its roof following a collision with another vehicle in Haydon Wick.

The male driver needed treatment for injuries not described as serious after his blue Ford Focus was left upturned in the road yesterday afternoon.

A black Mitsubishi Colt was also involved in the accident in Thames Avenue at the junction with Severn Avenue.

Police closed down the road between the Shield and Dagger pub and the junction as traffic built up.

PC Matt Lewis, of the North Neighbourhood Policing Team, said at the scene: “The male occupant of the car which ended up on its roof has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“The investigation is ongoing.”

A spokesman for the Great Western Ambulance Service said a crew arrived at 3.29pm and took the casualty to Great Western Hospital.
