SAINSBURY’S supermarket in Royal Wootton Bassett is giving customers the chance to help create a wall of messages in support of British Armed Forces, past and present, and their families, in the run up to Remembrance Day.

The store, situated in Borough Fields Shopping Centre, is one of seven stores across the country creating a special message wall in-store to help capture what remembrance means to them.

Customers can pick up a special poppy-shaped card from display boxes at the store’s customer service desk until noon on Monday, November 5.

Customers can then choose to put their message onto the store’s community noticeboard to help create the tribute wall or pass to the store’s colleagues to keep private until the messages are packaged up.

All messages will then be sent to The Royal British Legion to be planted in the grounds of Lydiard Park.

Store manager Julian Collier said: “Our customers have always been supportive of the Royal British Legion in the past and the charity means a lot to this community.

“I hope our customers can help us to create a message wall which is a fitting tribute to our military heroes from Swindon.”
