FAMILIES are being invited to listen to a silver band and have their faces painted professionally at a garden centre in the Swindon this weekend.

Wroughton Silver Band and face painter Sue Bardwell will be at Swindon Garden Centre in Stratton St Margaret as part of its free Christmas Fair Weekend on November 17 and 18.

Manager Lewis Fox said: “We will be welcoming visitors to our special festive weekend and to celebrate we have organised some entertainment for our customers.

“Sue will be on-hand to paint children’s faces on Saturday from noon until 3pm. On Sunday from 11am until 12.45pm the Wroughton Silver Band will be performing Christmas tunes.

“Representatives from the NSPCC Swindon will be visiting the garden centre on Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 3.30pm to talk to people about the work they do. They will also be selling NSPCC Christmas cards, Christmas calendars and cakes to raise funds for the charity.

“There will also be craft stalls here during the weekend selling a range of items, which would make perfect Christmas presents. Each stall holder will be donating £5 per day to NSPCC Swindon.”
