HALLOWEEN-related police incidents were down by more than 300 compared to the same period last year.

There was also a reduction of three per cent – 160 incidents – during the bonfire events compared to 2011.

Wiltshire Police say the number of Halloween and Bonfire Night incidents remained low across Wiltshire due to the community working with their local police to help reduce incidents.

Chief Inspector Charlie Dibble from the South Response Team, said: “I am pleased that the number of anti-social behaviour incidents related to Halloween and Bonfire Night have reduced again.”

But in Wroughton, a nasty assault took place involving four youngsters who were heading home after a Halloween party on October 31.

A 16-year-old youth was charged with robbery and criminal damage, while a 14-year-old boy, two 16-year-old youths and a female aged 16 were charged with robbery.

The five youths were in court on November 3 and were released on bail. A sixth youth, aged 16, was arrested and charged with robbery.

The seventh youth, aged 17, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in custody at Gablecross Police Station.
