A MAN has appeared in court after a man and a woman were stabbed in Welcombe Avenue on Sunday.

Wesley Harvey, 24, of Welcombe Avenue, appeared before Swindon Magistrates Court yesterday charged with two counts of causing grievous bodily harm.

It is alleged that Harvey, who has not entered a plea, stabbed Tami Hickey and Dean Maundrell.

Harvey was remanded in custody and will appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on May 10.

Chairman of the bench, Martyn Cook, said: “Mr Harvey, you are here this morning because you are charged with two very serious offences involving knives in which two people were stabbed.

“For those you will be required to attend a preliminary hearing at Swindon Crown Court on May 10.

“You will be remanded in custody.”

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said that both victims are in a stable condition and the woman remains at Great Western Hospital.
