Detectives in Swindon want to question this man after a couple were ambushed and a woman was subjected to a sexual assault in the town centre.

The incident took place between 2.15am and 2.30am on Friday, November 1 in an alleyway off Cambria Bridge Road.

A man and a woman were walking along Cambria Bridge Road when they were grabbed from behind by a male who then forced them into an alleyway.

The suspect then punched the male victim in the head several times, causing him to fall to the ground.

The suspect then forced the female victim to perform a sex act on him.

The male victim managed to flag down a passing car and the suspect then ran off.

The suspect is described as a white male, with short brown hair, no facial hair and of a medium build. It is thought he is aged between 20-30 years old, between 5ft 5ins and 5ft 11ins in height. He possibly had a local accent but nothing distinctive about his voice.

He was wearing a dark long sleeved green camouflaged coat – which was baggy, zipped up the front, blue jeans with possibly a brown leather belt with a gold buckle and old worn looking trainers.

Police have released a clip of CCTV footage which shows a man detectives would like to speak to in connection with this incident, as well as several CCTV stills.
