MONEY collected for the Poppy Appeal charity has been stolen by thieves who took a volunteer’s car for a joyride on the M4.
Brian Pratt, 70, was out selling poppies for the Royal British Legion at Leigh Delamere services last Monday.
He returned home to Chippenham and left two collection tins in the boot of his car.
The next morning he was horrified to find his driveway in Kingsley Road empty. His Jaguar was gone, along with about £120 donations given to the Legion.
Mr Pratt, 70, is vice-chair of the Chippenham branch of the Legion and had spent four hours standing outside at the service station .
