A 53-year-old man has been killed after being hit by a car on Great Western Way in the early hours of this morning.
At approximately 2am the pedestrian was involved in a single vehicle road traffic collision between the North Street roundabout and Bruce Street bridges.
The car involved was a black Vauxhall Corsa which had been travelling west along Great Western Way.
The pedestrian, from Swindon, was seriously injured during the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, a 17-year-old also from Swindon, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Great Western Hospital.
Wiltshire Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or the events prior to it to contact PC 661 David Williams at the serious collision investigation team at Police HQ Devizes on non emergency number 101, or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
