WILTSHIRE: Last month was the wettest January in the county in 64 years, with more than twice the average amount of rainfall.
Amateur weatherman Geoff Witts, of Steeple Ashton near Trowbridge, aid a total of 178mm of rain fell during the month, beating the previous record of 165.3mm in 1995.
The average rainfall for the last 64 years has been 72.3mm. The wettest day was Friday, January 3, when 24.5mm was recorded.
