Eight fire crews are tackling a major fire at a barn and workshop near Royal Wootton Bassett.
Crews were called to a site in Vastern at 12.55pm today for what was originally described as a barn fire. However, the blaze has also affected a workshop and both buildings carry a risk to firefighters as they contain asbestos.
A number of gas cylinders, including acetylene and liquid gas petroleum, are also involved in the fire, and a 200m safety cordon has been put into place.
There are currently eight fire crews tackling the blaze, from Swindon (two), Westlea, Cricklade, Calne, Marlborough, Chippenham and Malmesbury. They are being supported by a water carrier from Ramsbury and an incident command vehicle from Stratton.
It is not yet known how the fire started.
