A police officer has been charged with assaulting a hotel employee in Swindon.
Police were called to an alleged disturbance at a Premier Inn in the Swindon area on January 19.
Officers attended the hotel and arrested Gary Tester, 43, who serves with Avon and Somerset Police, in connection with the incident.
Mr Tester, who is based in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, answered bail on March 18 and was charged with common law assault (battery) on a member of hotel staff.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "As well as the criminal proceedings, a full investigation is being conducted by our Professional Standards Unit."
Mr Tester will appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on April 2.
