GREAT Western Hospital have confirmed discovering four cases of swine flu in the last few months.
Patients have been admitted to the hospital with a number of different ailments, at which point a common strain of the disease has been picked up by staff.
Great Western Hospital said these cases were easily treatable with a standard vaccine.
A spokesman for Great Western Hospital said: "There are many different strains of flu. This strain of flu has been circulating every year since 2009.
"As with all strains of flu some groups of people are more at risk of complications. This strain of flu is covered in the seasonal flu vaccine."
