CRACK cocaine user Tefferson Page slashed his adoptive father across the stomach and arms with an eight-inch carving knife after his father grassed him up to a London drug gang he owed money to, a court heard.
Page, 25, of Kirkstall Close in Toothill, is on trial for wounding Winston Booth with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
Page has already admitted unlawful wounding in the early hours of August 17, 2013, at Mr Booth’s home in Westminster Road, Toothill, but he denies the charge of intent.
Mr Booth alleges Page, for whom he has acted as a father figure for more than six years, entered his home before 3am and struck him twice on his head with a metre-long plank, before slashing him several times in the ensuing fight.
Mr Booth said: “It shocked me. The son that I care for, coming to my house, eating my food, wants to come and kill me.
“I haven’t done anything to him. All I have done is look after him.”
Mr Booth needed 19 stitches in his head and spent time in intensive care.
He alleges Page owed a London drug gang £10,000 at the time.
He said Page had branded him a “snake” before striking him – implying he had informed the Londoners of his whereabouts.
- The trial continues
