Emergency services dealt with a three vehicle crash on the Great Western Way close to junction 16 of the M4 earlier on this afternoon.
One person was taken to Great Western Hospital by ambulance as a precaution.
Although there were minor hold-ups as one lane was closed while the cars were recovered, traffic flowed relatively well.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were in attendance, and one passenger had to be cut from their vehicle.
A spokesman for the South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 2.57pm to a three-vehicle RTC on Great Western Way. We sent a paramedic, a rapid response vehicle, and Wiltshire Air Ambulance were in attendance.
"On arrival two patients were complaining of neck pain. Both were trapped in their vehicles. One was assessed at the scene and another had to be cut from their vehicle by the fire service.
"They were then taken by land ambulance to Great Western Hospital as a precaution."
All the vehicles were removed and the road fully re-opened shortly before 5pm.
