POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a collision which left a woman with serious injuries and closed a road at Ashton Keynes on Sunday.

At around 1.30pm a motorcyclist was in a head on collision with a Nissan Note, travelling in the opposite direction.

Sgt Barrie Card, of the serious collision investigation team, said: “At around 1.30pm on Sunday 7 September a three vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the B4696 just south of Ashton Keynes.

“It involved a black Yamaha motocycle, a Nissan Note, and a silver Vauxhall Corsa. At the junction on Aston Road, the motorcycle has collided with the oncoming Nissan Note while the Vauxhall Corsa was stationary waiting to turn right at that junction.

“The motorcyclist, a 52-year-old female from Farnborough, was left with serious injuries as a result of the collision. She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to the John Ratcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

“The driver and passenger of the Nissan, a couple in their 70s from Swindon, suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. The driver of the Vauxhall, a 23-year-old female from Asthon Keynes, was uninjured.

“Police officers from the Tri-Force collision investigation unit attended along with local officers, and the road was closed for four and a half hours.

“There were witnesses at the scene but we would still appeal for any others witnesses who have not spoken to the police to contact us on 101 and ask for the collision investigation team.
