THE Wyvern Theatre and inSwindon teamed up with Sing-a-long-a Productions to offer a sing-a-long-a taster session in Wharf Green yesterday.
Residents and business people were invited to dress up as nuns and sing-a-long to one of the hit songs from The Sound of Music.
“Sing-a-long-a Productions will present Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music at the Wyvern Theatre on Wednesday, October 15,” said theatre director Derek Aldridge.
“This taster session was an opportunity for local residents to warm up their vocal chords and have a bit of fun during the Friday lunch hour.”
The fun-filled show starts with a vocal warm-up led by the evening’s host, who also takes the audience through their complimentary ‘magic moments fun pack’, containing various props to be used at strategic points throughout the film.
The musical film is then played in full-screen technicolor, complete with subtitles so that the whole audience can sing along. And there is a fancy-dress competition in which everyone who has come in costume is invited onto the stage to show off their fantastic tailoring skills.
