ENGINEERS are on-site in Manchester Road and attempting to repair an underground electrical fault which has left a minimum of six homes without power.
A power cut in Manchester Road and Empire House in Clarence Street was reported to Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution (SSE) at 2.50pm today.
An engineer was on site at 3.30pm, who then requested assistance from specialist engineers for the repair.
No estimate has been given on when the power is likely to be restored, but SSE has assured customers the engineers will work into the evening until it is repaired.
The supplier also thanked residents for their patience.
