Fun day celebrates 40 years of Swindon Women’s Aid
A fun day at Lydiard Park on Saturday celebrates Swindon Women's Aid's 40th anniversary.
The event will run from noon to 4pm, entry is free and it will feature sports, stalls, a dog show, entertainment, refreshments and more.
Funds and awareness for the charity will be raised, while the aim is also to give something back to residents and supporters.

Streetfest at Brunel Centre
The three-day long Streetfest event, which started today and runs daily from 11am to 3.30pm, features a variety of weird, wonderful and magical entertainment as well as street art being created by renowned 3D artist Julian Beever.
On Saturday there will be percussion workshops from Bang On, world-class hat manipulation and juggling from Dan the Hat and classic tunes from DJ Bobble in his Beatwagon. Duo Up Against the Wall will man the graffiti wall while musicians The Streetlights and BIG MOB will perform unique slinkie walkabout act. Break dancers Exceptionelle and dancers from the town will also bust a move.
On Sunday, Creation Station will be keeping the kids entertained with their childrens jigsaw puzzle workshops with ballet dance from Une Femme Expose.
Get your car spruced up by firefighters for charity
FIREFIGHTERS will use their hoses to clean cars rather than put out fires at charity event on Saturday.
A charity car wash is being held in aid of the Brighter Futures Appeal and the Fire Fighters Charity.
Drivers can go along to Stratton fire station, in Highworth Road, between 10am and 3pm and get their vehicles cleaned in return for a donation.
As well as car washing, there will be home fire safety advice for visitors, and information anyone who is interested in becoming an on-call firefighter with Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service.
The Firefighters Charity provides help to serving and retired personnel and their dependants. It works with 11,000 beneficiaries every year at a cost of £9 million paid for by fundraising.

Blooms and produce among attractions at Purton show
Purton Horticultural show will return this on Saturday at Purton Village Hall.
Running from 2pm until 7pm, an auction will get underway from 6.30pm, with proceeds going to the Royal British Legion.
Meanwhile, organisers are urging people of all abilities and specialities to take part.
Classes will be on offer for everyone, from beginners to the serious show vegetable exhibitors, as well as categories in cookery, handicrafts and children’s classes.
Entry to adult classes is 15p, while children can submit their entries for free.

Free fishing taster day
Try your hand at coarse and fly fishing at Coate Water Country Park on Saturday with one-to-one tuition from a qualified angling coach.
Sessions run from 10am to 4pm at the park, in Marlborough Road, with bait sponsored by Swindon Enterprise Angling. More information at www.plaums-angling-club.co.uk.
Meanwhile the miniature railway at Coate Water Country Park will be open across the August Bank Holiday weekend from 11am until 5pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, subject to the weather and volunteer availablility. Tickets are £1.20 for all passengers. For more information go to www.nwmes.co.uk.
Hunt the steam engines at Blunsdon Station
Children can seek out 30 engine cut-outs placed at Blunsdon Station, Tadpole Lane, Blunsdon, on Sunday and Monday (with a little help from parents). Normal entry prices apply.

Search for animals at the Designer Outlet
Find all the animals in various shop windows around the centre to be entered into a draw to win a hamper with Back To School essentials.
Simply collect an entry form from the Customer Information Centre near the Food Quarter and once you've found all the animals head back there.
