A WOMAN suffered a head injury in a crash on the M4 today in which a vehicle overturned.
Highways England is warning drivers to expect delays on the M4 until 6pm this evening following the incident.
There are currently delays of around one hour eastbound between Junction 18 (Bath/Stroud) and Junction 17 (Chippenham/Cirencester).
Normal conditions were expected from 3.15pm but Highways England later said that congestion is continuing to build following the incident at about midday.
One casualty was taken to the Great Western Hospital following the collision, which involved one vehicle. Earlier reports suggested that up to four vehicles were involved.
A spokesman for the South Western Ambulance Service said paramedics had been called to the scene at 11.49am.
“There were three casualties, two were inside the vehicle on arrival and one was out of it. The casualty, a woman had a head injury,” he said.
