A SWINDON man has died after being hit by a car near the Marsh Farm Hotel on Friday night.
The 22-year-old left the Royal Wootton Bassett hotel at around 8.45pm and was crossing an unclassified road between Hook and the Coped Hall roundabout when he was struck by a silver Rover vehicle.
He sustained serious head injuries in the collision and was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he died on Monday morning.
Hook Street, between Royal Wootton Bassett and the M4 over the bridge to Hook, was closed for about five hours.
PC Dom Green, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “Sadly, in the early hours of Monday the 15th of February, the male passed away as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision.
“Anyone who has information on this incident is asked to contact myself at the Roads Policing Unit in Devizes on either 101 or 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously if preferred.”
