ORGANISERS of the Wroughton Carnival have confirmed it will be back for 2016 delivering the very best of local talent.

The much-loved village event has returned after residents formed a new committee and secured the support of the parish council and the local community.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 2, and will start at 1pm with the procession through the village centre.

This will be followed by a packed programme of entertainment on the Weir Field recreation ground that will include displays of local talent, traditional carnival games and stalls, plus entertainment in the village pubs at night.

Committee chair Zoe Spurgeon said: “We are delighted to bring back the carnival for 2016 and we are working hard to continue to find sponsors so we can ensure that we have an amazing day.

“We would like to invite local pubs, businesses, schools and groups of residents to enter decorated floats in the carnival procession.”

Chris Manning, who is in charge of the procession, is available to give help and advice on how to enter a float or walking group.
