PASSENGERS travelling by rail heading east during March are warned to expect delays to their trains due to engineering work around Didcot.
Work is being carried out on every Sunday in March – in addition to work announced last week by Network Rail as part of the electrification scheme – which will close Didcot Parkway station, with trains being diverted or buses put on instead.
High speed intercity services between South Wales and London Paddington will still call at Swindon – but the journey time will be increased by an hour as a result of the work.
But passengers travelling from Swindon to Didcot Parkway will have to make use of a replacement bus service which will run direct once an hour between the two stations.
GWR has advised all passengers to check the timings of their journeys on their website before departure. Times can be checked by clicking on bit.ly/1GGDWmX
