A POWER cut which left around 5,000 people without electricity was reported in Stratton this morning.
Other areas including Covingham and Oakley Park were also affected.
Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution was first made aware of the problem at 11.03 this morning and immediately began trying to fix the problem, hoping to have the power back on within the hour.
A spokesman from SSEPD said: "We would like to apologise to those affected for the inconvenience and we are working to get the power restored as quickly and safely as possible."
It is believed that most of the affected areas are now back up and running, though some may still be temporarily offline.
At this stage, the cause is unknown and SSEPD have stressed that their immediate priority is to get power back to customers as soon as possible.
