A WOMAN who was almost four times the drink drive limit when she was found on the road in charge of a child aged under seven on April 18 has been handed a suspended prison sentence and a five-year driving ban.
Claire Mangan, 41, of Arnell Crescent, admitted driving with a level of 136 microgrammes of alcohol in her breath. The limit is 35mcg.
She also admitted being in charge of the child.
She appeared before Swindon magistrates on April 19 where the bench heard she had committed the offence while on bail for a similar charge. They ordered her to undergo treatment for her alcohol problem and demanded she pay £115 towards victim services along with £85 in costs.
At an earlier hearing Mangan had denied driving an 07-plate Ford Fusion on March 1 while having 72mcgs of alcohol in 100ml of her breath when stopped by officers.
