THE Bishop of Swindon urged people to unite and stay strong in the wake of the devastating Manchester terror attack.
The Right Reverend Dr Lee Rayfield reacted to the horrific suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in the city on Monday night which killed 22 people, including children, and injured 59 more.
He said: "In the face of such actions as we have witnessed in Manchester, I hold ever more tightly to the conviction that is at the heart of Christian life and witness: violence and hatred, death and destruction will not have the last word."
The tragic incident is the worst terrorist attack in the UK since the 7/7 bombings in 2005.
The body of the bomber has not yet been formally identified but Greater Manchester Police have revealed that the man suspected of carrying out the atrocity is 22-year-old Salman Abedi.
