Larger than life British actor Brian Blessed is visiting Swindon on Saturday, to talk about his life and work on stage and screen.
A giant of a man, known for his booming voice and quick wit, this popular actor will star at the Wyvern Theatre to present An Evening with Brian Blessed.
Expect his trademark eloquence and humour as Brian talks about his career, including anecdotes about working on the film Flash Gordon in 1980, in which he starred as Prince Vultan, as well as television shows such as Black Adder and I Claudius.
Brian also played many roles in Shakespearean productions.
Now 81, Brian is also a keen climber and has climbed Mount Everest and Kilimanjaro among others. The son of a Yorkshire coalminer, one of his earliest roles was PC Smith in the BBC television series Z-Cars, during the 1960s. More recently, he has done voice work for television and games.
His show may not be suitable for people of a nervous disposition, or those who are not expecting the occasional expletive.
