STAR of This Country Daisy May Cooper made sure it was Swindon everyone was talking about at last night’s Baftas with her amazing dress.
The actor and writer had a tailor-made Swindon Town FC dress made specifically for the ceremony – she even had the red and white socks to match her red heels.
And now the club has said it would love to get the dress for its trophy cabinet.
Andrew Steele-Davis, press officer for Town, said: “We think the dress is brilliant and the way Daisy pulled it off was very well done. I think the club would love to have this in their trophy cabinet.
“We have been aware of This Country due to their support of the club and we are over the moon for them because they are very talented.
“Players and the staff watch the show and really support them and the journey they are on.
The dress was made by Fiona Hesford, who at first had her reservations but admitted this was an opportunity she couldn’t miss after seeing the design.
In true This Country style it had Mucklowe - her character’s surname - on the back with the number one.
Even the badge on the dress had come from a Swindon jersey.
Daisy who plays Kerry Mucklowe in the award-winning mockumentary won two Baftas at the awards last night, winning Best Female Performance in a Comedy Programme and Best Scripted Comedy.
In the show she is known for always wearing her Swindon Town football tops.
