A FOOTBALL tournament held at Isambard School has raised £6260.36 for Prospect Hospice.

Since it was first held in 2012, the event has raised more than £3,500 for the charity, which provides the only dedicated 24-hour end-of-life care service in Swindon.

The tournament is the brainchild of David Preedy..

He said: "I chose to raise money for Prospect Hospice as a thank you for the care my aunt received, and because the charity touches everyone in the community in some way,."

Every year, David calls on friends and football lovers to take part.

Between tournaments, he also finds time to keep his skills up to scratch.

He added: "I have a kickabout with friends once a week and, every now and then, I'll play an 11-a-side match.

"Thanks to everyone who has supported the tournament over the last seven years and helped us raise such a fantastic amount for Prospect Hospice."

Hollie Ricketts from the hospice's fundraising team said: "Thank you, David, for arranging the event and supporting us year after year.

" Our thanks also go to everyone who takes part.

"The tournament raises an incredible amount, which goes towards us providing free end-of-life care."
