COURT: A motorist who drove off after his car hit a telegraph pole and a wall in The Pry, Purton, which led to rubble falling onto another car, found himself with a bill of almost £400 from Swindon Magistrates Court.
Mitchell Meacock, 22, of Parsonage Farm Close, Cricklade admitted failing to stop and driving without due care and attention on December 15.
He was fined £276 with an extra £30 towards victim services and £85 costs. Eight points were also added to his driving licence.
COURT: Magistrates ordered a woman who used racially aggravated behaviour, assaulted a police officer and stole six bottles of water from Subway to pay a total of £405.
Martika Ross, 27, of Raleigh Avenue, Walcot, admitted the offences, which dated back to April 18, and was instructed to pay £50 compensation to the officer along with fines totalling £160, costs and a contribution towards victim services.
