EVEN though Pride has been cancelled for this year people can celebrate the event on Saturday – but as a fundraiser to make sure it goes ahead next year.
It will be Swindon and Wiltshire Pride’s biggest funding event of the year at the Regent Hotel on Victoria Road.
The event will feature activities including a karaoke competition, stalls and a big booze raffle.
Five-piece covers band Blind Lemon will headline, playing music from a range of genres including rock, blues, funk and the odd pop song.
Pride chairman Kristian Wheeler said: “The event this Saturday is going to be a fun-filled event and is not one to be missed.
“Bridy’s Angels are working their little fingers to the bone to bring this event together for the LGBT community of Swindon and Wiltshire and their family and friends.
“They’ll work non-stop all year round to raise the much-needed funds for Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2019.”
He added: “It is vital to our community to bring everyone together to raise the funds to keep Pride as a free event for all to celebrate and support each other.”
Doors open at 1.30pm with a line-up of acts throughout the day. Entry will cost £3 per head and under 18s are allowed at the venue until 9pm.
