If you fancy spending Sunday night soaking up some roots rock music, then head to the Beehive and tune in to Creedence Clearwater Revival Revival.

These Swindon musicians will be playing at the pub on Prospect Hill from 8.30pm.

The original Credence Clearwater Revival was a 1960s band, and since you can't see them performing anymore, this local tribute act may be the next best thing.

Credence Clear water Revival was an American rock band, making music in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It was made up of vocalist, lead guitarist, and songwriter John Fogerty, his brother rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, bassist Stu Cook, and drummer Doug Clifford.

They came from San Francisco but played in a Southern Rock style, but also wrote about social issues such as the Vietnam War. They played at Woodstock too.

Their song Bad Moon Rising reached number one in the UK singles chart in 1969, staying at the top of the charts for three weeks. The band made seven studio albums and sold 26 million albums in the United States. They were awarded a pace in Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time list.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame described them as "progressive and anachronistic at the same time. An unapologetic throwback to the golden era of rock and roll."

Even if you don't think you know the songs the tribute act is keeping alive, the concert may well reveal just how many of the original band's amazing creations you know.

The Beehive serves quality real ales and craft beers, and has a menu of pies with mash and gravy. For more information, bee-hive.co.uk.
