DUST off your top hat and brush off your scarlet jacket - the circus is coming to town.

The popular Giffords Circus is rolling onto Marlborough Common tomorrow, and this year they are celebrating the 250th anniversary of the wonder of circus, with a show called My Beautiful Circus.

My Beautiful Circus welcomes a wide range of talented new acts, including third generation Italian circus performers, The Curatola Brothers, Diana Vediashkina and her troupe of dachshunds, and Lisandra Austin with her aerial silk act.

Alongside these new acts, many fan favourites will be returning to the tent. Founder of Giffords, Nell Gifford will once again enter the ring with her unrivalled equestrienne act. and Tweedy the Clown returns to the tent with his slapstick physical comedy. Look out for a donkey-riding Persian orator-king, a neoclassical mad bird charmer and a Transylvanian circus mistress.

Circus Sauce, the on-site restaurant, will be creating a dining experience like no other. The circus stays at Marlborough till September 10, then moves to Cirencester, September 13-24. Tickets are £15-£32 for adults, and £10-£22 for children. For show times and to book, call 01242 691181 or visit giffordscircus.com.
