IT'S never too late to tread the boards - if you fancy yourself a budding Laurence Olivier or Judy Dench why not try the Beginners' Acting Course for adults at the Shoebox Theatre.

Ideal for those with little or no acting experience, the classes provide the chance to explore acting technique in a playful, accessible and practical way. Whether you are an aspiring performer, wish to revitalise your creativity, or simply want to try something new and build self-confidence, you will find the classes fun and rewarding. Shoebox artistic director Luke Marquez leads the sessions, which run over ten weeks and introduce participants to core performance skills. The course is open to anyone over the age of 18 and numbers are limited so everybody gets support to develop at their own pace. There is no audition to join.

The next beginners' course starts September 27 with Page to Stage, exploring the process of bringing fully realised characters to life through text work, analysis and practical experimentation, applying techniques from Stanislavsky’s system of actor training. Sessions are 7.30pm to 9.30pm and the course costs £70. To book, visit shoeboxtheatre.org.uk.
