Councillors on Swindon Borough Council's planning committee will be advised to approve a scheme to build five new houses on the site of a house, equestrian facilities and barns in Blunsdon.

The plan would be to construct five detached houses, each with a double garage arranged in a small cul-de-sac At Longfield on thee northern side Kingsdown Lane.

The reccomendation to approve the scheme comes despite the objection of Blunsdon Parish Council.

The smaller authority said the proposed development would be outside the parish's settlement boundary and that the number of houses would be over-intensification of the site which is 0.43 hectares in size.

The council was also concerned about sewage and drainage.

The matter will be discussed by the committee today at 6pm at the Civic Offices.
