SWINDON and Wiltshire Pride will be cycling around town this weekend as part of its annual Ride for Pride event.

Riders will set off from Faringdon Park at 10am on Sunday before heading to Lydiard Park, Coate Water, Supermarine RFC Presidents’ Day, Stanton House and Town Gardens to raise money for next year’s Pride.

Chairman Kristian Wheeler said: “Our annual Ride for Pride event is always really popular. It’s a great way of fundraising and keeping fit and healthy.

“We will also be awarding a prize for the individual who raises the most and for most colourful cyclist.

“We have checked the weather and it looks like it will be sunny, which is always a bonus.”

The Pride committee and Friends of Pride will tackle the 25-mile route before finishing the challenge at the Regent Hotel where they will be met with a celebratory after- party.

Kristian added: “If you can’t take part in the ride but wish to come and celebrate and congratulate our riders you can join them at the Regent from 7pm.”

There will be a barbecue and entertainment from 8pm including DJ Roly and Miss Bridy.
