STUDENTS from across Swindon and Wiltshire are invited to the second Student Lock Down in Swindon town centre.

Last year’s session attracted almost 200 students, all bagging bargains from stores across the town centre as well as goody bags and the chance to enjoy some live entertainment from local acts.

Topshop store manager Tanya Peters said: “The students loved the competitions in store and the whole evening was buzzing last year. We can’t wait to do it all again this year.”

For 2018, all students who are there on October 1 from 6-8pm will receive a wristband which entitles them up to 20 per cent discounts in participating stores across the town centre. The first 300 to register on the night will also receive a free student goodie bag.

inSwindon BID chief executive, Di Powell said: “We’re so excited to be bringing back the Student Lock Down event for a second year. This is a chance for students to get together and take advantage of some fantastic offers right here in Swindon town centre and really make a night of it.”

Stores taking part include Blue Banana, Debenhams, Schuh, Footasylum and Something Different.

Live music acts, freebies and prizes will feature across the night, all in the name of fashion.

Jane Stewart, manager at The Brunel said “The Brunel and Crossing businesses are looking forward to being part of the Student Lock Down event and welcoming students to the centre on October 1st.”

Registration is on the night only and is free at The Crossing via the escalator at The Brunel Shopping Centre from 6pm.
